UAW Employs New Strike Approach

Four weeks after the first wave of UAW strikes against Detroit’s Big Three automakers, UAW President Shawn Fain today announced a new phase and a new approach to their strategy. Rather than the highly anticipated weekly announcements as has become the pattern since the beginning of the strike, Fain now plans to call on workers to strike at any time, as we saw in Wednesday evening’s action against Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant.

MMA is committed to providing unwavering support to our members as we witness the persistent ripple effects on not only the OEMs and suppliers but also the interconnected industries linked to Michigan's automotive manufacturers. In addition to our ongoing efforts to inform policymakers and the public about the significance of our industry and the repercussions of the strike, I invite you to reach out to me directly if I or my team can be of assistance to you. My door is open to you, and we will do everything possible to support manufacturing resilience in the face of this ongoing disruption.

For your convenience, we again share the following information to assist our members in addressing potential layoffs as the strike continues. Please see the information contained in this link for helpful information you might share with those employees in your organizations that are adversely affected by continuation of the UAW strike.
